Is the New Subaru Impreza the Right Vehicle for You

Is the New Subaru Impreza the Right Vehicle for You

The Subaru Impreza STi has a long history of rallying and support from the community of Subaru enthusiasts. However, if you are considering a sedan or hatchback model, you may be a little concerned about the “boy racer” reputation of this iconic model. However, before making your decision, it is important to take a fresh look at the new Subaru Impreza to see just what is on offer.

Recent Price Drop:

As many Australian motorists are aware, the confirmation of the Japan and Australia Free Trade Agreement saw a number of price drops across many Japanese auto brand ranges including Mazda, Honda and Subaru. However, Subaru went one step further and introduced further price drops on several model ranges including the new Subaru Impreza. Since last December the price tag of the 2015 Impreza has dropped at least $1000. This means that the 2.0i entry level Impreza is available with a six speed manual transmission for just $22,990 driveaway. You can also spend an additional $2k and get your hands on the automatic continuously variable transmission variant.

The price drops are not restricted to the entry level models with the mid range and top spec models seeing big drops. The 2.0i Premium, previously the 2.0i-L is now available with a manual transmission for $21,400 plus on the road costs or the automatic CVT variant for $23,400 plus on the road costs. The top of the range 2.0i-S has also seen a big price drop to $27,400 plus on the roads for the CVT standard model. This represents a drop of $3590 since December.

Additional Kit:

The price is not the only attractive feature of the new Subaru Impreza. The range has also seen a number of specification changes, which have provided additional kit for no extra charge. This includes revisions to the interior to incorporate a new media system with touchscreen as standard across all models. The entry level Impreza models feature a 6.2 inch screen while the higher spec models are available with a 7.0 inch screen complete with sat nav. The mid and top spec variants also use this media screen as a display for the reverse view camera,

It is anticipated that the 2.0i Premium will be the bulk seller of the range and it has gained a range of equipment to make it even more attractive. In addition to the reverse view camera, it also has leather trimmed steering wheel and seats, new look 16 inch alloys and fog lights. The Premium and S models also have silver stitching on the leather surfaces and an upgraded surround for the CVT transmission shifter.

The top of the range models have also received some additional kit. They have a boot lid spoiler, extra USB input and sunroof as standard.
